Accor is running different playbooks in different Asian markets rather than following one regional formula, according to Duncan O'Rourke, CEO for Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

In China, Accor plans to double its footprint from about 800 hotels to 1,600 over six years, with roughly half of that growth coming through its partnership with local operator H World. The deal is also about distribution: the two loyalty programs together cover more than 400 million members, and Accor expects the tie-up to lift bookings into its network from Chinese travelers by 15% to 20%.

In Vietnam, large developers are driving growth, with almost 6,000 rooms signed with Sun Group across destinations including Phu Quoc and Da Nang, under brands ranging from Sofitel to TRIBE.

Accor signed almost 11,000 rooms in Asia last year, about 70% in midscale and economy segments, with Asia Pacific accounting for 49% of the company's gross room openings in 2025.

O'Rourke said the mix of franchises and conversions has not pulled Accor away from premium and luxury segments, and that the base trademark incentive fee per room on new managed contracts has risen 15% to 20%.
