Attica Governor Nikos Hardalias made a brief visit to Paris to open the region's pavilion at the international tourism trade fair IFTM Top Resa 2026, held at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles exhibition center. Attica is participating as a co-exhibitor within the national pavilion of the Greek National Tourism Organization, aiming to strengthen its presence in new markets and boost year-round destination recognition.

During his stay, Hardalias met with tour operators and industry professionals, focusing on the French market and promoting different facets of Attica, from Athens and the Athenian Riviera to Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf islands. He said the goal is "to further strengthen tourist flows, extend the tourism season and create greater added value for local communities and our economy."

IFTM Top Resa is France's leading tourism trade fair, with this year's theme centered on "the value of travel," organized around three pillars: economic, social and sustainable value of travel.

On the sidelines of his visit, the Governor traveled to Paris-Saclay, a research and innovation ecosystem bringing together universities, research centers and startups. The visit is part of the ongoing cooperation between Attica and Île-de-France, and carries added significance given plans for an Innovation Center-Park at the site of the Athens Lyssiatreio. Both sides agreed to continue exchanging expertise toward joint initiatives.

The delegation included regional officials such as Deputy Governor Alexandra Palli and Special Secretary Elena Rapti.
