The Municipality of Kassandra is examining development of the 'Keramaria' plot in Pefkochori, referencing a previous scenario for a 5-star hotel that had been selected in an earlier study. The municipal proposal envisions combining tourism uses with common areas and infrastructure serving residents and visitors.

Efforts to develop the plot date back years: in 2017 a competitive tender for long-term leasing was approved but later annulled by the Decentralized Administration. In 2022, a maturation study identified development of a luxury 5-star hotel as the most suitable option compared to other alternatives.

Approval of general guidelines by the Municipal Council allows further processing of proposals, but does not constitute approval for construction or a new tender announcement. Public consultation highlighted the need for the development to connect more closely with daily life in Pefkochori, through common areas, sports facilities, green space, playgrounds and parking.

Further investigation will include preliminary actions and studies to shape a specific proposal. Hotel capacity, budget and implementation timeline have not yet been specified, remaining subjects for further clarification along with the terms of concession.
