G6 Hospitality, parent company of the Motel 6 and Studio 6 brands, has signed a development agreement for a new Studio 6 Plus hotel in Marshall, Illinois, in partnership with hotel owner Vijaykumar Patel. The project involves new construction, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2027. The site sits along the Interstate 70 corridor, serving travelers moving between Illinois and Indiana.

Studio 6 Plus was introduced in April 2026 as an extended-stay concept, with guestrooms featuring full kitchens, functional living spaces, and a lobby offering digital check-in and personalized Ambassador service.

Nikhil Heda, country head at G6 Hospitality, said the company is seeking partners "who know their markets and are committed to building for the long term." Patel said his background in information technology and experience as a hotel operator led him to choose the concept for its integration of technology into guest experience and operations.
