Dellshire Resort opened in June in Wisconsin Dells, marking the city's first new-build resort in more than two decades. The 208-room property was designed by Wisconsin-based Architectural Design Consultants, Inc. (ADCI), drawing on medieval and fantasy-inspired aesthetics.

Jason Ryan, senior architect and VP of design at ADCI, said the team aimed to create "something worthy of a storybook," using natural and warm materials to evoke a European castle. Lauren Johnson, senior interior designer, said the client had "a specific stone aesthetic in mind," the locally sourced Chilton Rustic, which shaped the rest of the color palette.

The design includes wood detailing and leather furniture inspired by "Hobbit-type aesthetics," along with chandeliers highlighted by carved wood medallions on the ceiling. The lobby also features a pond with a dragon statue that shoots water, echoing a larger dragon sculpture at the property's entrance.

For the lobby carpet, the design team chose a carpet tile styled after a deconstructed Persian rug, balancing the Old World look with easier maintenance.
