Accor, Corinthia agree to add Verdi Hotels to Handwritten Collection
Five hotels in Malta, Portugal and Tunisia will join Accor's Handwritten Collection from November 2026 under a new franchise deal with Corinthia.
Accor and the Corinthia Group have announced a franchise agreement to add Verdi Hotels to Accor's Handwritten Collection. The deal provides for the initial inclusion of five properties in Malta, Portugal and Tunisia starting in November 2026, with the potential addition of two more hotels in Hungary and the Czech Republic.
In Malta the portfolio includes Verdi Gżira Promenade, Verdi St. George's Bay Marina and Verdi Dragonara, formerly known as the Vivaldi Hotel. In Tunisia the agreement covers Verdi Tunis Beach Resort, while in Portugal it includes Verdi Santarém.
Verdi Hotels was created in 2024 as a separate management platform, positioned apart from the luxury Corinthia brand. Under the agreement, Verdi Hotels gain access to Accor's distribution network, marketing services and loyalty programmes.
Simon Naudi, CEO of the Corinthia Group, called the deal "a significant strategic development," noting that Corinthia will continue to grow independently. Philippe Bijaoui, an Accor executive, said combining Verdi's management platform with Accor's distribution system "can accelerate growth and create long-term value."
