Ferryscanner data: Koufonissi, Chios and Limnos gain ground in bookings

Ferryscanner booking data for summer 2026 shows rising interest in less established Greek island destinations.

Ferryscanner released booking data for June-August 2026, recording an increase in Greek travelers' bookings for Greek islands compared to 2025. The Cyclades retained their strong position, with Tinos ranking first (+8%), followed by Paros (+18.3%), Mykonos (+5.6%), Naxos (+21.2%) and Syros (+19.8%).

At the same time, certain destinations stood out for significant percentage growth: Koufonissi recorded a 43.4% increase, Chios 36.9%, Limnos 21.4%, the city of Rhodes 21.2%, and Ios 21%.

Among the five most popular destinations, families and groups of three or more had the lowest average cost per passenger. In Tinos, for instance, one-way cost averaged €27.23 for families versus €31.50 for couples and €30.85 for solo travelers.

The share of solo travelers declined to 42.2% from 43.4%, while couples rose to 38.1% from 37.4% and families/groups to 19.6% from 19.2%. Trip duration remained stable, with 4-6 day trips dominant at 44.8%. Pet transport was included in 2.1% of bookings.
