Five-star hotel with 170 beds planned for Kefalonia

Ionian Sun is pursuing environmental permitting for a new five-star hotel in Argostoli with 16 buildings and 170 beds.

A new five-star hotel investment is being planned in Kefalonia, led by the company "Ionian Sun S.A." The complex is proposed at the site "Georgoutsia or Boureika" in the Municipality of Argostoli, on a plot of 15,117.46 square meters. The project is currently at the environmental permitting stage, with an Environmental Impact Study being prepared.

The plan includes 16 standalone buildings, divided into seven types, comprising rooms, villas, reception, restaurant, conference center and a spa-wellness area. Buildings 1-8 are two-story with double rooms, buildings 9-12 are single-story with single rooms, building 13 houses suites, while buildings 14-16 contain the common facilities.

Total capacity is set at 170 guests, with 8 rooms and 8 beds designed for people with disabilities. The hotel will operate seasonally, covering summer and parts of spring and autumn. Facilities include a swimming pool, pool bar and leisure areas.

Operations will include regular checks of water quality and electromechanical equipment, as part of an environmental management and monitoring program.

This development follows shortly after a building permit was issued for a new five-star hotel in Folegandros, pointing to similar investment activity on Greek islands.
