Hive House opens in North Carolina under Hyatt brand
Hive House, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Cary, North Carolina, opened with 45 suites under the Unscripted by Hyatt brand.
Hive House, the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Cary, North Carolina, has opened, joining the Unscripted by Hyatt brand portfolio. The property offers 45 suites.
The boutique hotel is owned by CMC Hotels, a family-owned hotel ownership, development, and management company based in Cary, which developed Hive House independently. Suites range from 312 to 412 square feet and include separate living spaces and full kitchens, while colorful interiors, curated artwork, and social spaces give the property a boutique character.
Sheri Erhart, chief operating officer and principal of CMC Hotels, said: "We started with the experience we wanted to create, not with a traditional brand prototype." The company is adding the Hive House Café, featuring products from North Carolina makers such as Raleigh's Trophy Brewing and Chapel Hill's Griff's Toffee.
Jason Ballard, senior vice president and global brand leader for Hyatt's Essentials Portfolio, said Hive House "captures what Unscripted by Hyatt hotels are all about," adding that the opening expands the company's portfolio in the Cary market.
