New hotels approved in Koufonisi and Mani
Authorities approved terms for a new 5-star hotel in Ano Koufonisi and a new 4-star unit in Areopoli, alongside interventions at existing properties elsewhere.
The Region of South Aegean imposed additional terms for the construction of a new 5-star hotel with 50 beds at Parianos, on Ano Koufonisi, within a Natura 2000 area. The project is being developed by SPIRIT INNOVATIONS A.B.E.E. on a plot of 8,731.95 sq.m. outside the settlement boundaries.
In Areopoli, in the Koutrou area, a new 4-star apartment hotel with 46 beds is being planned, developed by Dimitra Theodorakou. The Region of Peloponnese approved additional terms for the project, located within the Natura protected area "South Mani", while the Ministry of Culture approved the construction of a pool up to 22 meters long as part of the project.
At the same time, interventions are being advanced at existing properties: an expansion of the San Antonio Summerland hotel in Mykonos (188 beds), a new environmental licensing and plot expansion for Village Mare in Halkidiki (133 rooms, 294 beds), the inclusion of the Syntopia Hotel in Rethymno under Standard Environmental Commitments with capacity rising from 238 to 254 beds, and modified terms for Hotel Agistro in Serres (48 beds). Smaller-scale permits concern works at hotels in Thessaloniki, Chalkida and Kos, including one permit for converting a hotel building into residences.
