Peloponnese approves €7.67m for road and flood-defence works
The Region of Peloponnese has approved €7.67m in funding for road and flood-defence works, plus tourism promotion actions.
The Regional Committee of Peloponnese unanimously approved acceptance of €7.67m in funding from the Region's 2026 Development Program of Public Investments. The funds are allocated to road infrastructure, flood-defence works and tourism promotion activities across the region.
Road projects include €1m for the Astros–Leonidio provincial road (Arkadiko–Sabatiki section), €700,000 for provincial road No. 17 Argos–Pyrgella–Agia Triada–Arachneo, €1.2m for the 9th National Road at Kyparissia–Faraklada junction, and €1.5m for the Tripoli–Karkalou national road. An additional €1.1m targets the national and provincial road network in Corinthia, in the Municipalities of Corinth and Loutraki–Perachora–Agioi Theodoroi.
For flood protection, €600,000 is earmarked for works on the Xirias, Agiou Charalambous, Rachiani and Zapanti streams and the Asopos river. The remaining amount is directed toward promotion and strengthening of the region's tourism identity.
Regional Governor Dimitris Ptochos said the Region is "using every available funding tool to turn its planning into concrete interventions across the Peloponnese." Deputy Regional Governor Christos Lambropoulos said the decision "secures funding for a series of necessary interventions" and activates the next steps for their implementation.
