Serras Sevilla opens in Seville after three-year restoration

The new luxury hotel opened in September in a restored historic mansion next to Seville Cathedral.

Serras Sevilla officially opened its doors in September, bringing the Serras Collection to Seville. The hotel, a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts' Legend Collection, sits at the foot of the city's cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and has 43 rooms.

The property resulted from the restoration of the historic Casa Álvaro Dávila, designed around 1915-1917 by architect Aníbal González, combined with interiors by Spanish designer Eva Martínez. The transformation took three years and cost £37.7 million, more than £755,000 per key, making it one of Andalusia's most significant luxury hotel developments in recent years.

The 43 rooms and suites comprise 38 guest rooms and five suites, featuring handcrafted ceramic headboards and windows framing the cathedral and La Giralda tower. Signature suites include Suite El Marqués (65 sq m), Suite La Giralda, Suite Casa de Dávila (70 sq m each), and The Grand Suite (100 sq m).

The opening coincided with the 150th anniversary of the birth of architect Aníbal González, whose work shaped Seville's architectural identity.
