The Modernist to Open Third Hotel in Piraeus in 2027

The Modernist Hotels has announced the opening of a new 45-room hotel in Piraeus in 2027, marking its third property in Greece after Thessaloniki and Athens.

Located just steps from the port, the hotel will target both business and leisure travelers, combining accommodation with spaces for dining, entertainment and cultural activities.

The property will feature an all-day café-bar inspired by Japanese listening bars, serving coffee by day and cocktails with vinyl music by night, alongside a pop-up shop showcasing independent brands and local makers. A rooftop aperitivo bar, inspired by Southern European port cities, will offer harbour views.

According to the company, the hotel will host workshops, exhibitions and music listening sessions, following the brand's approach of collaborating with local artists and producers used across its other properties.

The Modernist opened its first hotel in Thessaloniki in 2018, followed by The Modernist Athens in 2020, housed in the former Canadian Embassy in Kolonaki.
