The Pig acquires building in Tunbridge Wells for new hotel

Country house hotel group The Pig has acquired a Georgian building on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, expanding its collection.

Country house hotel group The Pig has announced the acquisition of a Georgian building on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, as part of plans to expand its hotel collection.

The company said it intends to respect the history of the building as well as its existing role within The Pantiles as it develops its plans. It added that the project involves more than expanding its geographical footprint, with the brand aiming to adapt its offering to the surroundings.

The group has not yet announced an opening date for the new property, nor provided details on the number of bedrooms or facilities.

Kevin Styles, chief executive of The Pig, said securing the new site in Tunbridge Wells was a "very significant moment" for the company, coinciding with its 15th anniversary. He added that there is "plenty of work ahead" as the plans develop.
