The PIG returns to Tunbridge Wells with new hotel acquisition

Boutique brand The PIG will open a hotel in Tunbridge Wells after acquiring the existing Tunbridge Wells Hotel on The Pantiles.

British boutique hotel brand The PIG is set to open a new property in Tunbridge Wells following the acquisition of an existing hotel in The Pantiles area. The building, currently known as The Tunbridge Wells Hotel, is an 18th-century Georgian structure that came to market in November 2025 through Fleurets with a guide price of £2.7 million.

The property features 20 bedrooms, a bar and restaurant with capacity for around 80 people, and a function suite that can seat 50 guests. Subject to a paving licence, an external seating area could add roughly 90 more covers.

The acquisition comes months after The PIG exited its Groombridge Place property, also located in Tunbridge Wells, due to delays linked to planning complexities.

In a statement, the company said: "Many will know that there had been hopes to bring The PIG to Groombridge Place. Whilst that wasn't meant to be, the group couldn't quite shake the feeling that this corner of Kent still had a place in their story."
