Travel + Leisure, Wyndham expand partnership on Sports Illustrated Resorts
Travel + Leisure Co. and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts are expanding their partnership to develop traditional hotels under the Sports Illustrated Resorts brand.
Travel + Leisure Co. announced an expanded partnership with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts to advance the next phase of Sports Illustrated Resorts. The agreement establishes a framework to build, operate, and scale hotels under the brand as a complementary hospitality and mixed-use development platform.
Sports Illustrated Resorts was first introduced in 2023 and spans hospitality, vacation ownership, and residential offerings in sports-focused destinations. The new partnership with Wyndham brings the brand into traditional hotels, combining Travel + Leisure's brand stewardship with Wyndham's global scale, distribution, and commercial infrastructure.
Michael Brown, president and CEO of Travel + Leisure Co., said the partnership gives the company "new ways to extend the Sports Illustrated experience to travelers while creating distinctive opportunities for developers and asset owners." Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO of Wyndham, said the goal is to create "immersive, year-round destinations across college towns and major urban markets."
The first fully branded property, Sports Illustrated Resorts Nashville, is now open as a 185-suite resort on Music Row. Additional resorts are underway in Chicago, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, with completions expected between early 2027 and 2028.
