World's first Minecraft-themed hotel to open near London in 2027
The 69-room Minecraft World Hotel will open at Chessington World of Adventures Resort as part of a new themed entertainment zone.
The world's first hotel dedicated to Minecraft is set to open in 2027 near London, at Chessington World of Adventures Resort. The Minecraft World Hotel is being developed as part of a partnership between Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios, forming part of a wider themed area called Minecraft World.
The four-storey building will have 69 rooms, 49 standard and 20 upgraded, designed around the game's blocks, creatures and environments. The lobby will draw on the Overworld, the lifts will resemble Nether Portals, and corridors will evoke mineshafts, with hidden 'diamonds' in interactive spaces.
The concept extends to dining, with an underwater-themed restaurant and a bar inspired by the Woodland Mansion. The hotel connects to the adjacent Minecraft World, which will feature attractions, shops and the Escape the Nether roller coaster, described as the first of its kind.
No specific opening date has been announced beyond the 2027 target, and bookings for the hotel have not yet opened.
