Hilton opens ÉRA Hotel Heraklion in city centre

ÉRA Hotel Heraklion, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, opened on 30 October 2026 at Daskalogiannis Square, in central Heraklion. The hotel has 55 rooms and occupies a fully renovated building, with design inspired by Cretan tradition and folk art elements.

The opening marks the next step in Hilton's partnership with Green Properties – Melakis S.A., which began with Hilton Garden Inn Chania City. ÉRA joins Tapestry Collection by Hilton, a portfolio of properties with identities shaped by their destinations.

The lobby bar features a canvas work by artist Giannis Alexandrakis, inspired by a traditional Cretan hem pattern, as well as a wall of clay jugs made exclusively for the hotel by a local pottery workshop. In the rooms, illustrations reference Cretan myths, including Ariadne, the Minotaur, Daedalus and Icarus.

On the top floor, the rooftop restaurant Rodopou & Beyond offers a creative Greek cuisine menu curated by chef Dimitris Georgiadis, along with a bar and outdoor pool overlooking the sea and Mount Giouchtas. The hotel also includes a gym and a meeting room.

The opening of ÉRA adds to a series of recent hotel developments in Crete, where announcements have also included Dertour's five-star Ananea Pnoe in Karteros, Heraklion, and new projects by the Karatzis Group.
