Hyatt opens first Hyatt Centric hotel in St. Louis, Missouri
The new hotel occupies a 1910 historic building on Washington Avenue and features 142 guestrooms.
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Hyatt Centric Downtown St. Louis, the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Missouri. The property is located near the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium, City Museum and Forest Park.
The eleven-story building, constructed in 1910 as the headquarters of the Roberts, Johnson & Rand Shoe Company, features Sullivanesque architectural details and Art Nouveau influences. The hotel offers 142 guestrooms with contemporary decor, high ceilings and oversized windows, with some rooms including a dedicated seating area with a sofa.
General manager Bill Tirone said the hotel "gives guests a downtown base with a genuine sense of place." Explore St. Louis CEO Brad Dean said the opening represents "a strong vote of confidence in our downtown area."
The hotel includes The Link, a lobby restaurant and bar serving locally inspired dishes, along with Provisions, a 24-hour grab-and-go market. On the rooftop, the seasonal bar and pool Expedition offers views of downtown St. Louis. The property also offers roughly 11,750 square feet of meeting and event space and a 24-hour fitness center.
